Peva Ensemble
Why "Peva" and what does the name mean?
"Peva" is an alleged name for the living waters sung of in sagas, epics and tales of the old times. There, druids, and warlocks would gather the waters from the seven sacred wells and spend many hours chanting over them.
Our ensemble is a well just as sacred to us.
We are a culturologist, a philologist, a philosopher, an economist-mathematician and a diploma musician bound by our love for Ukrainian and Russian folklore, sharing the beautiful and inspiring city of Berlin.
Living and professing our national identity through the music of our ancestors, is a magical act for us.
Amid the storms of the modern world, the delicate and intimate undertaking of singing together has become our foothold, our pivot and our vantage.
Warum "Peva" und was bedeutet der Name?
Unbestätigten Angaben zufolge wurde das lebendige Wasser der Bylinen, Epen und Märchen"Peva" genannt. Veduns (Zauberer, Magier) entnahmen Wasser aus sieben reinen Quellen und sangen viele Stunden lang rituelle Lieder darüber.
Unser Ensemble ist für uns ein Brunnen mit solch lebendigem Wasser.
Eine Kulturwissenschaftlerin, eine Philologin, eine Philosophin, eineWirtschaftsmathematikerin, und eine Diplom. Musikerin sind durch ihre Liebe zurukrainischen und russischen Folklore vereint. Und der freie Geist des geliebten Berlins kann sogar einen Stein zum Kreativ-Werden erwecken.
Die nationale Identität durch die Musik unserer Vorfahren zu erleben, die in uns auf genetischer Ebene verankert ist, ist ein unglaublicher magischer Akt. In einer Zeit, in der die Welt stürmt, ist eine so flüchtige und zerbrechliche Tätigkeit - die stimmliche Ko-Kreation - für uns zu einem Bezugspunkt und zu einem Ausgangspunkt geworden.
